Dr. Henry Azzam is a veteran banker and economist in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Dr. Azzam was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Deutsche Bank in MENA between 2007 and 2012. More recently, he was the Chairman and CEO of Jordan’s Social Security Investment Fund (SSIF), where he oversaw a USD 9 billion portfolio of equity, bond and direct investments. Prior to this, he was CEO of Amwal Invest, and served as Chairman of Dubai International Financial Exchange, (currently Nasdaq Dubai), MobileCom Rubicon.

Dr. Azzam is currently a board member of Byblos Bank, Beirut, Rasmala Investment Bank, Dubai, and Arab Jordan Investment Bank, Amman. Previously he served as a board member of Royal Jordanian Airlines (RJ), Nuqul Group, Aramex, Majid Al Futaim Trust (MAFT), Arabtec, and Al Ahli Bank. He was also a member of the International Advisory Board of the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul). 

Dr. Azzam is currently senior lecturer in finance and program coordinator, Master in Finance, at Olayan School of Business, American University of Beirut.
